Lakeshore recognized with 2025 Silver Trout Award
Lakeshore Trout Unlimited was recognized in 2025 as the Wisconsin Council of Trout Unlimited as the Silver Trout Award winner. This award is given annually to the most impactful chapter in Wisconsin in the previous year. LSTU was recognized for their extraordinary work in cold water conservation and youth outdoor education. As the DNR Adopt-a-Public Fishery partner, Lakeshore TU performed over 600 hours of habitat restoration and stewardship in 2024. In the area of youth education, LSTU supported five Trout in the classroom programs, supported local youth outdoor education programs and conducted STREAM Camp for 15 11-13 year old kids...
2023 Adopt a Fisheries/Wildlife Area Group of the Year
Lakeshore TU has been named 2023 Adopt a Fisheries/Wildlife Area Group of the Year by the Wisconsin DNR. Lakeshore TU earned the award as the top group in Wisconsin by performing over 600 hours of volunteer work on the Onion River Public Fishing Area in 2023. This award recognizes the tremendous hard work of our volunteers, partners and sponsors. Shown below are Lakeshore TU President, Al Wortz with DNR Fisheries Director of Fisheries, Justine Hasz and Laura Stemick, Fisheries Team Supervisor.Â
